GALEA breeding was born in 1984 and has always been a breeding ground for national genetically-breeding pigs, a technique that gives the best flavor and consistency to pigmeat.
The breeding stands behind the Corporate Spaccio and Transformation Laboratory, and allows an annual production of about 600 DUROC Large White cross breeds.
The production of Salumi and the production of fresh meat, sold directly at the Spaccio aziendale, constitute a complementary part of our company's self-consumption sales.
Animals are fed daily to a ship, a mixture of water, corn, barley and fable. In particular, barley and fable are cultivated in adjacent farmland and ground in the Mangimificio aziendale. They are bred in full compliance with the rules governing animal welfare, strict compliance with hygiene rules governing salubrity, safety and quality of production processes and pigmeat (EC Regulation 852/2004, Regulation 853/2004, Reg. CE 2073/2005, Reg. 178/2002, the so-called Hygiene Package).
In addition to our company, you can join the ADOTTA UN SUINO initiative: by adopting a pig you can buy it, monitor it and accompany it during its growth, and then get seasoned products from the transformation into cold meats and fresh meat according to customer's wishes . The initiative is governed by agreements with the utmost seriousness and transparency, all billed and documented by the subscription of an act of adoption, in compliance with the rules in force.
The idea is born from the will to restore importance to the peasant origins of our land in Calabria, guaranteeing genuine and high quality production, saving thanks to the short chain.
