QRcodeSince that distant 1445, the Sanseverino family has made the cultivation of olive trees and milling one of its most important activities. The vastness of their possessions and the large number of oil mills owned by them meant that as early as 1500, the Sanseverinos had about 18 "trappeti". Over the centuries, production, harvesting and milling have adapted to technological improvements. The current owner and producer, Gianpietro, has had the opportunity to know, appreciate and love this work since he was a child. The care of the land, the pruning of the plants, the days of the harvest, the smell of the old mills, the joy of the "first oil" on the warm bread, are the memory that led him to build a new plantation of Carolea olive trees, in apply the most recent theories of organic farming and make use of the most modern cold pressing systems. It is present on the market with high quality products, certified organic, whose organoleptic characteristics are able to satisfy the most demanding palates. The company of Gianpietro Sanseverino of Marcellinara has about 4,500 plants, including secular olive trees and a new planting of the Carolea cultivar. Strictly organic for over 20 years, it is treated with dedication and competence in every detail, both in the hilly area and in the flat area that runs alongside the Amato River. The Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil of the Gianpietro Sanseverino di Marcellinara Company stands out above all for its low percentage of acidity. Here the attention to the harvest, to be carried out at the right time and the subsequent milling, are crucial phases for the production. The general quality of the oil obtained from this cultivar is always highly appreciated. It is obtained exclusively by cold pressing, it is characterized by its low percentage of acidity and the high content of polyphenols.
