Erano gli inizi del 1927 quando la prima generazione di olivicoltori della nostra famiglia, iniziò questo cammino che va avanti da quasi un secolo. Tutto iniziò da un appassionato e lungimirante Carlo Rota che, insieme al fratello Salvatore, ha l’intuizione di macinare da sé le olive che produce. Il piccolo frantoio, posto al centro del paese, prende vita. La raccolta diviene un momento di festa e la spremitura il momento della ricompensa con l'atteso olio, frutto di un anno di duro lavoro. L’entusiasmo e la passione per la genuinità e la tradizione passano di generazione, la sapienza per questo lavoro si trasmettono di padre in figlio e di figlio in nipote. Oggi siamo cresciuti, l'impianto si è ingrandito, ci siamo adeguati alle tecniche moderne, ma restiamo sempre fedeli alla tradizione che tanto ci ha insegnato nel corso di tutti questi anni. La tenuta si estende su una superficie totale di 150 ettari, di cui 75 sono dedicati alla coltivazione specializzata dell'ulivo.

ll terreno, di origine calcareo argilloso e sabbioso, è ideale per la coltivazione dell'ulivo, in quanto ricco di tutti i macro e microelementi essenziali per la sua crescita. Tutta l'area delle nostre tenute gode di un microcrima mediterraneo meraviglioso, costituito da estati calde ed asciutte ed inverni corti e piovosi nella giusta quantità. Il tutto ancora più accentuato dalla posizione delle nostre tenute, a metà strada tra il Parco Nazionale della Sila e le meravigliose coste dello Ionio.

It was the beginning of 1927 when the first generation of olive growers in our family began this journey that has been going on for almost a century. It all started with a passionate and far-sighted Carlo Rota who, together with his brother Salvatore, had the intuition to grind the olives he produces himself. The small oil mill, located in the center of the town, comes to life. The harvest becomes a moment of celebration and the pressing the moment of reward with the expected oil, the fruit of a year of hard work. The enthusiasm and passion for authenticity and tradition pass from generation to generation, the knowledge for this work is passed on from father to son and from son to grandson. Today we have grown, the plant has enlarged, we have adapted to modern techniques, but we always remain faithful to the tradition that has taught us so much over all these years. The estate covers a total area of 150 hectares, of which 75 are dedicated to the specialized cultivation of olive trees.

The soil, of clayey and sandy calcareous origin, is ideal for growing olive trees, as it is rich in all the macro and microelements essential for its growth. The entire area of our estates enjoys a wonderful Mediterranean climate, consisting of hot, dry summers and short, rainy winters in the right amount. All of this is even more accentuated by the position of our estates, halfway between the Sila National Park and the wonderful Ionian coasts.
